The MTA organises or supports a number of events in Malta and Gozo which are deemed relevant from a tourism perspective, either because the have the potential to attract international participation, or because they are particularly appealing to foreign guests whilst on holiday on the Maltese Islands. The Malta Tourism Authority also participates in a large number of tourism fairs that take place throughout the year around the globe.
