Quality Seal

The Quality Assured (QA) seal is a Malta Tourism Authority voluntary quality recognition scheme aimed at businesses offering high levels of quality, consistency and professionalism. The QA seal covers three key tourism business operations, namely restaurants, visitor attractions and destination management companies (DMCs). The participating businesses are assessed either annually or once every two years.

The QA seal was launched in 2008 for DMCs and in 2009 the first companies were awarded. In 2010 the first visitor attractions were awarded and in 2015 the first restaurants were awarded.

The criteria are specific to each category and different methods of assessment are used. 


Schemes:

  • Quality Assured seal for Destination Management Companies - The scheme was launched in 2008 and the scope is to recognise DMCs committed to high levels of quality and professionalism. The assessment is carried out through an audit and participation is on a voluntary basis. Quality Assured DMCs are conference organisers and event planners that have been certified and given the quality seal.   • Quality Assured seal for Visitor Attractions - The scheme was launched in 2010 and the scope is to recognise visitor attractions committed to high levels of quality and professionalism. The assessment is carried out through an announced visit and participation is on a voluntary basis. QA Visitor Attractions include a variety of places such as museums, historic houses and parks which offer unique experiences for old and young alike. You can rest assured that these places are worthy of a visit and good value for money, while you are on holiday in the Maltese Islands. All the visitor attractions listed in these pages have been certified.

  • Quality Assured seal for Restaurants - The scheme was launched in 2014 and covers all types of restaurants, including those within hotels. The two part assessment (mystery guest and follow-up announced visit) is an objective way to recognise restaurants committed to high levels of quality and professionalism. Participation is on a voluntary basis.
