ARTE TV puts the spotlight on traditional Maltese cuisine

From today to Tuesday 7th December 2021, audiences in France and Germany will be invited to enter a Maltese kitchen, through the documentary "Papilles" broadcast during the programme "Invitation au Voyage" on ARTE TV.

Through 7 episodes (see schedule below), audiences are invited to discover 7 typical and traditional Maltese recipes, both sweet and savoury. The episodes take the audience through the whole experience, starting off with the choice of ingredients, moving on to amateur and expert advice from professional chefs, as well as presentation ideas.

The first episode was broadcast today, and can be followed by clicking here

"It is no secret that Malta and Gozo are well-known for the great and tasty food which tourists can find at every corner of the archipelago. MTA's support in facilitating these episodes is just another part of our strategy to always show our prospective visitors just how much there truly is more to explore. In a bid to honour our heritage and the culinary diversity of the archipelago, the Malta Tourism Authority promotes local and sustainable gastronomy, and welcomes the use of traditional skills in an increasingly modern and innovative culinary scene," Carlo Micallef, MTA Deputy CEO and Chief Marketing Officer said.
