The Malta Tourism Authority, through its Social Activities Committee, has once again collected funds via its staff members, and then proceeded to donate to 4 worthy causes.
This year’s chosen entities were ‘Fondazzjoni Nazareth’, ‘Dar Emmaus’, ‘RISe Foundation’ and ‘RMJ’s Horse Rescue’.
Throughout 2018, the SAC committee organised a number of fundraising events, with all proceeds going towards the donations. Some of these activities included a hot dog day, traditional ftira lunch, various raffles and even a breakfast event.
Following last year’s initiative of donating items that the entities needed as opposed to just giving them a cheque, the MTA continued on this path and once again contacted all the chosen entities to see what they required MTA to buy for them.
The MTA Executive Chairman, Dr. Gavin Gulia, said that “the MTA always looks to help those in need, and it is a great sign that year on year we are able to provide charities and entities with items that they need for day to day running. I would like to thank the Social Activities Committee for organising these events throughout the year, as well as the staff who participate and make this possible. I would also like to thank those companies that support our fundraising raffles.”
