Erasmus Plus Project KA1 VET Learners 2020 - 2023

The Malta Tourism Authority in collaboration with Gambero Rosso Academy is once again providing a professional traineeship programme in Rome that shall take place between 6 – 14 November 2022.

The programme is being offered to Restaurant Managers / Supervisors who will have the opportunity to receive ‘Quality of Service Standards with the Catering Sector’ training directly at the Gambero Rosso Academy under the guidance of their selected Maitre and Sommelier.

The traineeship programme shall cover a variety of topics such as :

  • Sector Dynamics
  • Contemporary Hospitality
  • Savoi-faire
  • Service Techniques: Classic Vs Modern
  • Restaurant Planning
  • Gastronomy and Nutrition
  • Food-Wine pairing
  • Setting up wine and food menu

The professional traineeship is fully funded through Erasmus European Union Programmes Agency (EUPA)  and will take place over 9 days (flights, single room accommodation on bed and breakfast, travel insurance, lunches, one dinner, cultural activities, travel by public transport and airport transfers in Rome are covered).

This is the third intake and will be leaving Malta on 6th November 2022 and returning on 14th November 2022. 

You are required to duly fill and sign all attached application forms and documents. Please also attach an updated Curriculum Vitae.

Successful applicants will be required to present their ID card or passport for identification and verification of booking details during the presentation meeting. Non-European participants will be requested to present their work permit card.

All travel arrangements are subject to adherence to any Covid-19 regulations as stipulated at time of travel.

Completed application forms for first or second intake need to reach the MTA by 30th September 2020 1600hours.

Kindly note that a cheque deposit of Euro100 is to be forwarded with your application.

  • The full amount of the cheque will be cashed only when a participant does not show up on departure date
  • In case of cancellation by a participant, the expenses incurred by the MTA will be taken from this amount

Terms & Conditions: 

  • All participants must be over 18 years of age.

  • Places shall be allocated on a first come first served basis.

  • Establishments carrying the Quality Assurance seal by the MTA will be given preference.

  • A minimum of two / three years experience in the Catering Sector is required.

Following the successful completion of the course, the cheque deposit will be returned by post.
