Support Towards Scuba Diving Tourism in the Maltese Islands

Introduction

The Malta Tourism Authority is committed to support Scuba Diving Tourism in the Maltese Islands. This scheme incentivises visitors to experience the Maltese Islands' clear blue Mediterranean sea as an ideal location for scuba diving activities with an abundance of reefs, caves and wrecks that make diving here some of the most interesting in the Mediterranean.

This scheme offers a contribution towards tourists visiting the Maltese Islands for scuba diving activities in 2021.

 

Duration of the Scheme

The scheme incentivises tourists to partake in a number of activities relating to diving. These shall take place from June 2021 until funds are available.


Designated Authority

This scheme is administered by the Malta Tourism Authority.


Budget

This scheme has a total budget of €750,000 allocated to diving activities.

Terms & Conditions

  • The visitor will be required to adhere to the regulations set by the Superintendent of Public Health and the Health Authorities at the time of the application submission. The applicant would be required to present any necessary documentation which shall include a photo of the airline ticket and identification document.
  • Unutilised funds cannot be carried forward to subsequent year (i.e. 2023).
  • There are no restrictions to the visitor's country of origin as long as not residing in Malta.
