The Malta Tourism Authority has joined the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) as a Destination Partner, strengthening Malta’s engagement with the global travel and tourism industry ahead of the WTTC Global Summit 2026.
The partnership comes as Malta prepares to welcome some of the world's leading tourism industry figures to the Maltese Islands for the WTTC Global Summit, which will take place in Valletta from 7–9 October 2026.
Through its role as regulator, industry partner and destination promoter, the MTA works to strengthen the quality of Malta’s tourism offering, support the industry and ensure the Islands remain competitive in international markets. This includes developing Malta’s tourism proposition across different sectors and experiences, whilst strengthening the destination’s profile as a high-quality, sustainable and diverse destination for visitors throughout the year.
The partnership comes at a particularly significant moment as Malta prepares to host WTTC’s Global Summit in Valletta from 7–9 October 2026, bringing together CEOs, ministers, investors, and tourism leaders from around the world to discuss the future of Travel & Tourism. The Summit will place Malta at the centre of global discussions on the future of the sector, while providing an opportunity to showcase the Maltese Islands’ tourism success story and strengthen public-private collaboration.
It will also provide an important platform to highlight Malta’s commitment to sustainable growth, innovation and the continued development of a high-quality tourism sector.
Jo Etienne Abela, Minister for Tourism, said:
