Quality Assured seal for Visitor Attractions
The Quality Assured seal for Visitor Attractions is a voluntary scheme run by the Malta Tourism Authority that recognises museums, heritage sites, audio-visual shows and other visitor attractions that offer
a quality experience to visitors.
The scheme was launched on the 10th June 2010 through a public call for applications and the first award ceremony took place in February 2011. There are currently 8 Quality Assured visitor attractions – please click here for details.
Quality Assured visitor attractions must comply with a detailed set of criteria in order to obtain and retain the quality seal. The requirements cover several different areas including:
- Quality of content
- Quality of interpretation
- Value for money
- Third party liability
- Quality of service
- Staff training
- Visitor feedback
- Quality of promotion
- Accessibility
- Layout and comfort
- Cleanliness
- Safety, conservation and security
- Quality of catering, retail and other services
The criteria are assessed by means of a quality audit and successful applicants are entitled to a number of advantageous benefits during the two-year certification period.
