The Malta Tourism Authority STAR Awards
The Special Thanks And Recognition Awards (STAR) are an important initiative through which the Malta
Tourism Authority is able to give public recognition to the best people and products in the tourism industry.
The STAR Awards were introduced as a pilot project in 2005. Since then the scheme has grown significantly in popularity, with tourist nominations increasing each year and new awards being added to recognise people working in several aspects of the tourism experience.
STAR Service Awards
These awards are all about acknowledging and rewarding the hard work, dedication and excellent hospitality demonstrated by workers in contact with tourists.
Hotel Worker of the Year
This staff-driven award aims to reward exemplary workers in the hospitality industry who excel both in their performance and their general attitude towards work and colleagues.
STAR Product Awards
In 2009 the MTA awarded the Best Visitor Attraction, aimed at rewarding the heritage site, museum or place of interest that offers the best experience to visitors.
