Areas Of Practical Experience Of The Project

Competencies and knowledge to be acquired by all participants during their work placement are related to three specific areas:

Area 1 - Email Marketing Techniques And Strategies

Through this work-base learning, the participants will learn how to optimize E-mail Marketing Campaigns to attract more clients and visitors and to promote their business through this professional and effective tool.

Expected Competences and Skills:

- Management and Strategies for a correct use of a mailing list;

- Writing and Creation of Effective E-mails to contact your clients;

- Call to Action: to attract and to inform your clients; 

- Use of Mail chimp to manage and send E-Mail Marketing Campaigns.

Area 2 - Video Publishing & Promotion

Through this work-based learning, the participants will focus on Video Publishing and Promotion whilst learning how to use the basic tools to promote their business through a video.

Expected Competences and Skills:

- Viral Marketing to share the business profile on the web;

- Visual communication and the capacity to attract attention;

- Video publishing and promotion including a focus on You Tube as per underneath sub-menu:

1) You Tube: Statistics and Users;

2) Creation of a You Tube channel for businesses;

3) Optimization of videos on You Tube;

4) Techniques for Advertising on You Tube. 

Area 3 - New Trends In Digital Marketing: Business Promotion Through The Social Media

Through this work-based learning, the participants will focus on the new trends in digital marketing with a focus on the promotion strategies through Social Media Marketing.

Expected Competences and Skills:

- Social Media Marketing Promotion and Planning of Online Campaigns and Business Promotion;

- Social Media Marketing versus Web Marketing: advantages and differences;

- Online identity and brand building for your business;

- Social Media plan: strategy and promotion of your business online;

- Blog: strategies and promotion of well-written contents to inform the clients about your business and the services offered;

- Overview and work on the main Social Media such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn for businesses.

The Project’s Participants – Profiles And Who They Are:

The participants of this project are the key people from businesses within the Tourism Sector and Quality Assured by the Malta Tourism Authority as per underneath:

- VET Staff from local restaurants;

- VET Staff from Visitors Attractions;

- VET Staff from Destination Management Companies.

These participants are all with managerial roles within the tourism industry.

The businesses that are affiliated with Malta Tourism Authority through the Quality Assured seal are audited every year ensuring that all related businesses and their staff are fit for the purpose. These businesses are all certified through a scheme and have to consistently maintain the standards requested by Malta Tourism Authority. 

The Project’s Participants – Mobilities Dates And Groups (Rome Mobility):

These are the main activities of project (for a comprehensive project schedule of all the different phases, kindly see review ‘Annex I Work Plan of TOURISM_DIG_SKILLS_IN_MALT Project Malta Tourism Authority’:

This project will allow 48 participants to carry out a work-based learning activity in Rome within the field of Digital Strategies.

Mobilities’ Duration and Dates: from January 2019 until February 2020

Group 1: 12 participants (13 - 19 January 2019) | Destination: Rome | Hosting Partner: SWEB SRL | Type of Activity: Work-Based Learning in Digital Skills | Duration: 5 days of professional traineeship and 2 days of travel.

Group 2: 12 participants (3 - 9 February 2019) | Destination: Rome | Hosting Partner: SWEB SRL | Type of Activity: Work-Based Learning in Digital Skills | Duration: 5 days of professional traineeship and 2 days of travel.

Group 3: 12 participants (12 - 18 January 2020) | Destination: Rome | Hosting Partner: SWEB SRL | Type of Activity: Work-Based Learning in Digital Skills | Duration: 5 days of professional traineeship and 2 days of travel.

Group 4: 12 participants (2 - 8 February 2020) | Destination: Rome | Hosting Partner: SWEB SRL | Type of Activity: Work-Based Learning in Digital Skills | Duration: 5 days of professional traineeship and 2 days of travel.

Each participant, according to his/her background, experience and needs, will carry out tasks related to the area of expertise he/she wants to develop.

The Project’s Participants – What Is Included:

  • 7 days 6 nights of stay in Rome (length of the mobility);
  • Full-time programme of Work Experience for all participants within the sectors of the project, including final certificate and support in completing the Europass Certificate;
  • Meet and greet on arrival at the airport (Fiumicino or Ciampino);
  • Private transfers from the airport to accommodation on arrival and departure;
  • 'Welcome meeting' with local staff of the hosting company to discuss the traineeship and the weekly programme;
  • 6 nights of Hotel accommodation 3*** on B&B basis;
  • Lunches provided during the days of the work placement (from Monday to Friday);
  • Welcome Dinner and Final Event presentation of Mobility Certificate;
  • Cost for local public transportation in project destination (Rome);
  • Monitoring and support throughout the stay (by hosting partners);
  • 24 hour emergency assistance by hosting partners;
  • 2 Half-Day Cultural Activities on topics related to the project and in accordance with the participants’ training and professional needs.
  • All taxes and related charges.
