As soon as the last performer exits the Isle of MTV stage and the crowd of music fans starts vacating Il-Fosos, a massive cleanup operation starts. This clean-up involves a co-ordinated effort from various entities working overnight to restore the popular concert venue and the surrounding streets of Floriana back to their original state. The entities involved in this operation include several personnel from the Public Cleansing Division, the Floriana Local Council, and various others operating in their respective areas.

MTA CEO Mr. Paul Bugeja had words of praise for all those who participate in this cleanup. ”The work on Isle of MTV Malta does not end when the stage lights and amplifiers are switched off. For a large number of people, that is when the challenge of bringing the neighbourhood back to normality actually starts.”

Mr. Bugeja went on to compliment all partners and stakeholders who played a role in making this year’s event another huge success: “Our thanks go to all the entities and individuals involved in this project, especially those who work behind the scenes to ensure the safety and security of all concerned. These include the Police Department, the Armed Forces of Malta, the Civil Protection Department, the Red Cross, St John’s Ambulance, Mater Dei Hospital, and many more. A special mention goes to our own MTA team who worked tirelessly before, during and after the show to make this annual appointment an ongoing success story for Malta.”

An estimated crowd of 50,000 spectators thronged Granaries Square to party to the sound of Raye, Jonas Blue, DNCE, The ChainSmokers and various local talent on Tuesday night.
