Mr. Thomas Temple from Suffolk, England is celebrating two landmark achievements… his 84th birthday and his 84th visit to Malta. During a visit to the Malta Tourism Authority offices in Valletta, Mr. Temple accompanied by his son Paul had a meeting with MTA CEO Mr. Paul Bugeja and Director Communications & Digital Media, Mr. Michael Piscopo.

Mr. Temple’s first trip to Malta took place back in 1973 when he spent his first of many holidays on the island with his late wife. Since then, he has visited at least once a year, and often twice or three times a year. He recalled that during 2006 he visited Malta six times, on holiday and to attend weddings.

In the last ten years Mr. Temple and family have been staying regularly at the Radisson Blu St Julian’s, St George’s Bay, Malta.

Malta’s warm weather and beautiful sea was what originally attracted the Temples to the destination. However, the genuine friendships developed over the years made it such that Malta became a second home. “In every place I visited, I was looked after very well. In fact, every time I’m here I like to visit all my Maltese friends,” Mr. Temple said. Although he is thoroughly familiar with the island’s major landmarks and attractions, Mr. Temple still finds new things to discover, and on every trip he makes it a point to visit one place that he has never been to before.

Mr. Bugeja congratulated Mr. Temple on his remarkable achievement and thanked him for his loyalty to the destination. In presenting him with a book about Gozo, he wished him many happy returns to the islands in the years to come.
