Best Visitor Attraction
The ‘Best Visitor Attraction’ award forms part of the prestigious STAR Awards that are now in their 4th year. These awards are an important initiative through which the Malta Tourism Authority is able to give public recognition to the best people and products in the tourism industry.
During the last years we have awarded a number of different tourism products ranging from the ‘Most Attractive Public Garden’ to the ‘Best Feast Stall’. For more information click here.
For the 2008 awards we felt a need to start awarding attractions that offer the best experience to visitors. A set of criteria was established based on international quality schemes and was fine-tuned following a pilot study in a number of local attractions. The criteria will be used during unannounced visits to participating attractions.
The attraction obtaining the highest score will be awarded the title of ‘Best Visitor Attraction’. The winner will be announced during the STAR Awards ceremony in the first quarter of 2009. This will be followed by extensive publicity in local and foreign media and on the Malta Tourism Authority website.
