Improving the Digital Skills and the Quality Performance within the Catering Sector in Malta

 

The Dig_Qual_MT_Cater Project - Call for Applicants 2016

 

The project is funded by the European Commission under the programme called Erasmus Plus KA1 for VET learner and staff mobility Call for Proposals 2016.

 

 Who are the beneficiaries of this Erasmus Plus Project?

Beneficiaries are 48 Maltese Nationals and/or residents aged 18+, key people working in catering establishments licensed by MTA.

 

 What does the Dig_Qual_MT_Cater Project offer to its participants?

The project offers 7 days in Rome (including travel), Italy under the supervision of the hosting partner SWEB Srl for a professional traineeship with a focus on Web and Social Media Marketing for entrepreneurs. 

 

 When do the mobilities of the Dig_Qual_MT_Cater Project take place?

The project mobilities are scheduled for the following period:

  • Mobility 1: from Sunday the 20th November until Saturday the 26th November 2016
  • Mobility 2: from Sunday the 22nd January until Saturday the 28th January 2017


 What are the Major milestones/activities of the project?

 Part 1

Selection of participants: To participate in the programme your application should be submitted by Thursday the 13th October 2016.

Please make sure you attach all necessary documents and annexes listed in the Application Form.

Once we have received your Application we will call you for an interview.

If you are successful you will be accepted as a participant of the Dig_Qual_MT_Cater Project project and you will be bound by all the terms and conditions of the project.

 Part 2

Preparation of participants

Your grant will cover 7 days in Rome, Italy, including full cultural and pedagogical preparation about the project destination, hosting companies, full details of your insurance coverage and list of useful contacts.

 Part 3

The period of traineeship abroad under the umbrella of Erasmus+ funding allows you to get the following certificates:

  • Europass Mobility Certificate
  • The Malta Tourism Authority Official Project Certificate

 Part 4

Conclusion of the project: When your period of mobility is over, we will ask for your testimonial, written or video to share your experience and success of the project.

You will have to complete a final report of your experience abroad and you will receive all project certificates and documentation to recognize your professional traineeship abroad and within the Erasmus+ Programme.

You may also be requested to participate in some seminars and presentations to inform the audience about your experiences abroad.

 

Project Milestones:

  • Deadline for Application: Thursday, 13th October 2016
  • Project Activities: professional traineeship within the web marketing and social media marketing for entrepreneurs from the restaurant sector.
  • Internship Location: Rome, Italy
  • Duration of the Internship: 7 days

 

Elegibility and Selection Criteria:

Eligibility criteria to participate on the project:

  • Participants must be 18+
  • Hold Maltese citizenship or residency
  • Basic knowledge of the Italian language
  • Managers/owners from MTA licensed restaurants

Selection criteria to participate on the project:

  • Preference will be given to persons with a minimum of 2 years work experience in management of a restaurant
  • Managers/owners from Quality Assured restaurants


 Costs Covered by the Project:

  • 7 days 6 nights of stay in Rome including a professional traineeship in collaboration with SWEB Srl
  • Return flight tickets to and from the project destination
  • Insurance cover during all your stay including medical expenses and third party liability
  • Meet and greet on arrival at the airport (Fiumicino or Ciampino)
  • Private transfers from the airport to accommodation on arrival and departure
  • 'Welcome meeting' during the first week, to discuss the traineeship and the weekly programme with the hosting partner
  • Hotel accommodation on B&B basis plus some financial allocation for meals
  • Cost for local public transportation in project destination (Rome)
  • Certificate of achievement at end of stay
  • Monitoring and support throughout the stay (by hosting partners)
  • 24 hour emergency assistance by hosting partners


Costs that are not covered by the project:

  • All other expenses not mentioned in the “Costs Covered by the project” section will not be provided.
